Dave is a homegrown Holdsworth jiu jitsu practitioner. He is a lifelong student of the combat arts and has most recently in his life’s journey made jiu jitsu his sole focus and training passion.  Dave has an extensive background as an instructor with a genuine passion for teaching; disciplines ranging from firearms, tactics, personal protection, survival  & emergency medicine/trauma field care.

Dave is currently a professional firefighter and paramedic for one of the busiest fire departments in the country. He was also formerly a service member in the US Army, serving in the special operations community during the early stages of the Global War on Terrorism (GWOT).  Dave was an Army Airborne Ranger with 2d Ranger Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment - US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) and Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC).

Dave is a Chris Holdsworth purple belt, Holdsworth Jiu Jitsu™️ certified instructor and the primary instructor for the 5am No-Gi class. Dave also fills-in on any/all classes as necessary.

Dave has successfully competed in multiple local competitions and IBJJF Opens with gold medals for all events.
